Fun for All! Wilmington’s Downtown Sundown Concert Series

If you’re ready to kick back and savor all that summer in Wilmington has to offer, begin your weekends by checking out some great tunes right in the local area. Yes, it’s time for the Downtown Sundown Concert Series, which takes places each Friday evening from May 25 to August 31, 2018 in Wilmington.

All the Details on the Popular Concert Series

During this 13th season of the special event, each concert will go from 6:30 to 10 p.m. at Riverfront Park, which is in front of the Federal Courthouse and not far from the Cape Fear River. A variety of local groups and touring bands will provide musical entertainment for the whole family. Local bands open and warm up, and then the main bands take the stage.

Musical genres range from classic rock to 80s nostalgia to modern pop. Whether you love to hear music by Tom Petty, Coldplay, the Beatles or the Rolling Stones, the cover-playing bands will provide music to your ears.

Better yet, all concerts are free. We expect a large turnout yet again this year. Last year’s attendance was quite high. People from right in Wilmington and far beyond love to chill out and relax during this great weekend event.

A Wilmington Downtown Incorporated Event

Wilmington Downtown Incorporated (WDI) is the concert producer, and the concert series generates funds for the organization’s downtown development projects. So concertgoers enjoy a great time while expressing support for the local area.

Wristbands are available at the event for $1 each. Any concert attendee who is 21 and older and who wants to enjoy beer or wine during a concert in the summer series can purchase a wristband.
