Trusst Builder Group is proud to work with families and individuals to satisfy their comfort, safety, ergonomics, aesthetics and sustainability needs. We will discuss the differences between modern and contemporary.
1. Style and Exterior
The modern building exterior has fewer colors with a simple base of colors and materials used. These buildings don’t use bright colors because the colors might distract attention from the structure of the building. The form is well defined and has little or no space between the windows and walls. This is to create a continuous line that links all building parts together.
Contemporary houses have more natural colors throughout their exterior. Floors are also beige and gray to contrast the exterior and interior. Patterns or shapes of colored glass or bricks are not used as they take attention away from the basic design.
2. Formal and Informal Elements
Modern buildings are often designed with formal elements such as classical columns, circular motifs, rectangular floor plates and other shapes used in entryways. It has a clean vector-like structure created to make homes appear more orderly.
Contemporary buildings usually have informal elements such as concrete furniture and fountains. They are used to create variations in the structure of a home’s entryway.
3. Symmetry and Contrast
Symmetry is a core concept in modern architecture, while in the contemporary style, asymmetric furniture and shapes get preferred. A balanced contrast between two different forms creates more interest inside homes. It also allows the owner to utilize the entire space with appropriate contrast.
4. Space
Modern houses are based on how space and interior design are used. There are usually no walls or partitions within these homes. People are encouraged to interact with the space by creating a flow and flow environment.
Contemporary houses create more open spaces within their homes that allow for more privacy; walls get placed where needed because the space will be used for sleeping and preparing meals.
5. Convenience
Contemporary homes allow owners to create spaces that look good and are easy to clean. Modern homes are more functional and usually have less storage space as it takes away from the natural environment.
6. Natural and Artificial Elements
In modern homes, used are natural elements such as wood, stone and concrete for walls, ceilings and floors. Artificial elements such as plastics, glass or metal are not used because it takes away from the structure of the building. Proposed furniture gets made from natural materials such as wood, glass and stone with few synthetic components.
In contemporary homes, artificial elements made of plastic or metal molded are used to create a unique shape for a furniture base.
