October 21, 2020

WILMINGTON, NC – Alan Brock, a Construction Manager with Trusst Builder Group, recently retired after 25 years of service. Trusst Builder Group is a locally owned and operated builder and developer of quality homes and neighborhoods throughout New Hanover and Brunswick counties.

“Alan has been with Trusst through every stage of our company’s growth and development and his contributions to our company are immeasurable,” said Shawn Horton, Broker/Owner of Trusst Builder Group. “To honor Alan and the incredible legacy he leaves behind, we will continue to include him on our Trusst team as Construction Manager Emeritus. All of us wish Alan a very happy and well-deserved retirement, but he will be sorely missed and never forgotten.”

Alan was born and raised in Long Island, NY and began his career in construction here. He worked for a variety of builders and was engaged in all aspects of home building, from framing to finish carpentry. In 1995, he moved to Wilmington after his wife read an article touting Wilmington as one of the nation’s top 50 communities to raise a family. Soon after arriving in the Port City, Alan joined Trusst Builder Group.

Throughout his 40+ years as a Construction Superintendent and Project Manager for builders in New York and North Carolina, Alan Brock figures he’s built more than 1,500 homes. He’s seen it all. . . done it all . . . and enjoyed every moment of it!

“Not everyone gets the opportunity to do what they love and what they’re good at every day,” said Alan. “I got that opportunity and it was very rewarding. And I also got to work with some great guys on the Trusst team and on our job sites. They were like friends to me and I’ll miss that.”

Alan and his wife Amy recently sold their home in Leland (a Trusst home that Alan built) and along with their dog Savannah, are headed to their mountain home in Sparta, NC for their next adventure! The plan is to renovate the home from top to bottom, hunt, fish, travel and ride motorcycles. Once the renovation is complete, they’ll sell that home and see where the wind takes them next. He says that may even try the RV thing for a while.

One thing they plan to do a lot of is travel around the country to visit friends and family. Alan and Amy have a daughter and two granddaughters who live in the Outer Banks and another daughter who lives in Israel. Alan is a graduate of the State University of New York at Oswego with a degree in anthropology.

Trusst has built more than 3,000 homes in the Cape Fear region since 1992. Today, Trusst homes are under construction in Whiskey Branch and RiverLights in Wilmington; Brunswick Forest, Hearthstone, Magnolia Greens and Waterford in Leland; Compass Pointe, St. James Plantation, Winding River Plantation, and Palmetto Creek in Brunswick County. Floor plans include townhomes, patio homes and semi-custom home designs.
