Within minutes of the community The Shoppes at Waterford include local favorites like Fat Tony’s, Cape Fear Seafood, and P.T. Grille. For a delicious seafood meal on the river-front, downtown Wilmington offers Elijah’s and Pilot House. If you’re already heading toward the beach, check out the ocean front dining at Oceanic Restaurant and Grill. There are also a number of less formal places to grab a bite to eat downtown along Front Street including Front Street Brewery and Chops Deli.
For those searching for a bolder dining experience, there is a variety of restaurants offering meals from an assortment of different cultures. Circa 1922 is a tapas-style restaurant that serves a range of smaller portioned dishes along with regular entrees. Yosake Sushi Lounge and Restaurant is also an excellent place for sushi and an entire full-pan Asian menu.
Entertainment for All Ages
There are a number of different museums within minutes of Hearthstone, including the Cape Fear Museum of History and Science and the Battleship North Carolina which is docked right in the Cape Fear River. For those who enjoy fine art, there is the Cameron Art Museum, which just celebrated their 50th anniversary. There are also a number of homes throughout the Wilmington area that can be toured and provide a unique look into Wilmington’s rich history.
For those who enjoy live performances, there are many venues throughout Wilmington where you can catch a comedy show, a live band, or even an open-mic night. The Soapbox downtown on Front Street is one of the most well known venues for local bands and poetry readings. The nearby campus of the University of North Carolina Wilmington is also a place to find entertainment including college sports games, plays, shows, exhibits, presentations, and other events.
