For most of us, St. Thomas is a gorgeous Caribbean vacation destination with powdery beaches, turquoise seas and sun-drenched weather. For Adam Worrell, it’s a special place he once called home. Adam was born and raised on St. Thomas, the son of a sailboat captain and a jewelry maker turned landscape architect. From his father, Adam developed a passion for anything on or in the sea. From his mother came his creativity and passion for building.
Adam left St. Thomas at age 10 for Southern Pines, NC. Here, he discovered his love of home building as a member of his mother’s landscaping crew. Adam and his co-workers brought his mother’s landscape designs to life around newly built homes, and he quickly became enamored with the building process and the deep satisfaction one gets when a job well done exceeds homeowner’s expectations.
Following high school, Adam attended Appalachian State University in Boone, NC and earned a degree in Business. He then did a stint in culinary school, but soon hung up his toque for a toolbelt and began his construction career in earnest. Adam has worked for a variety of commercial and residential builders in Charleston, SC and Wilmington, and is licensed as a residential builder in both North and South Carolina. Adam joined Trusst Builder Group in May 2019 as a Construction Manager and is now building exclusively in Compass Pointe in Leland.
When not working, Adam can most often be found either on a boat in the Intracoastal Waterway or in the water at Wrightsville Beach, where he enjoys both surfing and Stand-Up Paddleboard (SUP).
