Ian Taylor

Ian Taylor, construction manager for Trusst Builder Group, developed a keen interest in construction at a very early age, as he literally grew up in the industry. Ian’s father and older brother each own building companies that specialize in home renovation in their hometown of Rocky Mount, NC. Ian grew up working construction for both companies on the weekends and during summer breaks. Today, he says his love of home-building “is in his blood.”

Another thing that runs in the family is a commitment to East Carolina University in Greenville, NC. Ian’s older brother and sister both graduated from ECU and Ian followed suit, graduating magna cum laude with a BS in Construction Management in 2015. The day after graduation, Ian moved to Wilmington, drawn by his love of the beach and a job opportunity as an Assistant Superintendent at Monteith Construction.

Before joining Trusst Builder Group in 2019, Ian also worked for WB Brawley, Advanced Framing Group and Riptide Builders, all in southeastern NC. According to Ian, the thing he loves most about home building is the opportunity to build relationships with the homeowners, and to see the joy on their faces when he hands over the keys to their new, forever home.

When he’s not working, Ian enjoys spending time with his wife Rachel and their three Labrador Retrievers. They both share a passion for beach volleyball and each played volleyball while at ECU and continue to enjoy the sport today. “Wherever we go, the volleyball goes,” said Ian.
