Jon Wood has three passions in his life – family, fishing and construction. A native of Morehead City, NC, Jon grew up as a middle child among four brothers with the Atlantic Ocean within easy reach. While his brothers pursued other interests, Jon was hooked on fishing. He began fishing with friends as a young teen and honed his skills by crewing on charter cruises running in and out of Morehead. Soon, he was participating in up to a dozen fishing tournaments each year and catching his fair share of blue marlin, white marlin, sailfish, wahoo, tuna and the occasional inshore catch as well.
During junior high and high school, when Jon wasn’t aboard a boat, he was likely atop a roof at a local building site. At age 13, he began working for a small, local construction company owned by a friend’s father. He started by carrying shingles to the roofers and then advanced to other tasks. Just like with fishing, he was quickly hooked. He attended East Carolina University to pursue a degree in Construction Management because they were well known – and still are – to have one of the leading construction management programs in the nation.
Jon graduated from ECU in 2002 and began his construction career as a Superintendent at Shea Homes LLC in Charlotte the following year. Since then, he has worked with Savvy Homes in Jacksonville and Kent Homes and Logan Homes in Wilmington. Jon joined Trusst Builder Group as Construction Manager in May 2020.
Jon and his wife Lindsey are the proud parents of two girls, Fisher and Isla. When he is not working, Jon enjoys spending time with his family, boating and (you guessed it) fishing! He hopes to pass along his passion for fishing to his young daughters one day and in the meantime, he still enjoys the occasional trip to the Sanitary Fish Market and Restaurant when he visits his parents in Morehead City.
